Recommend a Route, Road or Place

With winter getting ever nearer and the weather slowly but surely getting worse, it's that time of year where if you're anything like me you'll be scanning the internet and studying your map looking for good roads and places of interest to head out to on your bike in the spring. So I'm using this blog entry for everyone who has any suggestions to add your ideas in the comments section, and with a bit of luck by next year we'll have a whole feast of ideas for weekend ride outs.

Here's a few places I'm tempted by so far:
1) Caerleon Roman amphitheatre.
2) Roman Baths at Bath.
3) Chedder Gorge.
4) Caernarfon Castle.
5) Creswell Crags.
6) Haddon Hall (Bakewell, Derbyshire) is well worth a visit.
7) Skara Brae Neolithic Village, Orkney Islands. I can feel a weeks holiday coming on!
8) York, taking on board York Minster and the Jorvik Viking Centre.

That's a few historical outings sorted out, I just need to work out what nice towns a villages to visit and which of the bike bashes to go to. It's either going to be the Bulldog or the Rock n Blues.

Oh and if we get ourselves on a trip to Ireland I'd like to pay Newgrange Megalithic Passage Tomb a visit. http://www.knowth.com/newgrange.htm

Yeah yeah yeah, I've heard it all before yer portly tw**. Isn't that the Dragon Rally you keep threatening to go on every year and then repeatedly change your mind at the last minute? It wasn't so long ago on the way back from the not so secret nuclear bunker when it had been raining that you said, and I'll quote... "oh no, look at the state of my poor bike"

looks like Loz now has use of what he calls the INTERWEB !! About time to.

Tenby, that's worth a visit one of the weekends. It looks like it has a nice beach too!

Hey, if your in N. Ireland, check out Portstop/Jet station on Redlands Road in the Port of Larne. They are biker-friendly, have hot food, smokes, and toilet so you can eat, piss, fuel up and go. You can catch the ferry over to Scottyland from there, or catch the Coast Road. Also, if you let them know your coming, you can place hot food orders. I liked the place and the people. Good stuff. I got the number if you need directions or want to order food. I talked to Alan, he's the manager, great guy. Should find out if they sponsor events next time I'm in there. Ride hard! Portstop number: 028 2827 3437
